As a result of cast illness, we have regretfully had to postpone the opening of Northanger Abbey.

Audiences booked for performances scheduled for 7 to 9 June have been contacted for rebooking or refunds.

There will be performances from Friday, 10 June onwards, but the situation is still fluid and we will contact audiences for any other nights that are unable to proceed.

We are absolutely delighted to announce a full season of plays and films for our 2021/22 year. You can find out more about the season’s events within the What’s On sections, as well as information about how to get involved with any of the productions or the running of the theatre. You’ll also see events run by other groups who use our theatre, although more detail and tickets are available from them.

We have arrangements in place to respond to the Covid-19 pandemic in order to maximise people’s safety. Key points are:

  • We’ll be selling tickets more or less as normal but are offering fewer seats on our Distanced Wednesdays, so if you would prefer to be guaranteed some space between you and other audience members, please come on a Wednesday night.
  • We’re obviously asking people with any Covid-19 symptoms not to visit the theatre (and we’ll refund your tickets).
  • The box office, coffee shop and bar will all be open on performance nights.

If the local or national situation changes, we may need to alter our plans and possibly at short notice, so please keep an eye on our website, our social media accounts, or our emails to you.

We hope you enjoy the photographs on our website. In recent years, we are very lucky to have had the support of two talented photographers, Alastair Barnsley and Emily White, and the vast majority of photos on here are by them.
