A tragical-comical-historical-pastoral evening.
As part of the Shakespeare festival being facilitated by FOLIO Sutton Coldfield, Highbury Players are presenting an anthology of Shakespearian scenes, speeches, songs, sonnets and spoofs, compiled and directed by Ian Appleby.
The evening will take the form of rehearsed readings and will be a marvellous mixture from a variety of Shakespeare’s plays and sonnets, culminating with a romp through Hamlet.
Various other festival events are also taking place at Highbury Theatre: our film club screened Macbeth on 10 April, Sutton Coldfield Movie Makers are presenting the premiere of their film Falstaff: a Naughty Knight in Sutton Coldfield on 28 April and there will be a Mouthpieces – A Shakespeare Special! evening of spoken word, organised by the Sutton Arts Forum on 29 April.
