Following the Production Launch, this is now your opportunity to audition for a part in the Highbury Players forthcoming production of …
Travels With My Aunt
written by Graham Greene
adapted by Giles Havergal
Directed by Paul Steventon‑Marks
To be performed from Tuesday 11 to Saturday 22 June 2024 at 7:30pm.
Henry Pulling meets his septuagenarian Aunt Augusta at his mother’s funeral. What follows is an outrageous series of events that pulls Henry away from his quiet suburban existence into a world of Shalimar, adventure and crime. From London to Brighton, to Istanbul and South America, this hilarious and sometimes disturbing tale explores the eccentricity of families and the pomposity of the English middle class.
The play traditionally challenges four men to play upward of 25 roles including Aunt Augusta herself. Indeed, it is an exquisite example of actorly technique. First performed in 1989 at the Citizens Theatre, Glasgow, it went on to win awards and acclaim on the West End and Broadway.
The Auditions will be on Monday 18 March 2024 at 7:30pm in the theatre’s Upper Foyer.
