Highbury Cinema

Highbury Film Club originally ran from 1943 to 1956.

A trial screening of Some Like It Hot was held in the summer of 2013. This was sufficiently successful that it was decided to restart the Highbury film club and we re-commenced regular showings of films in 2014.

Highbury Cinema was run by a committee of members who selected a season of films each year, presenting about a film a month, providing a varied programme for audiences.

We were able to use Highbury Cinema’s facilities as part of our gradual re-opening arrangements during the coronavirus pandemic from 2020 to 2021.

The last screening, for the foreseeable future, was of Up in December 2025.
